Thoughts on Shaw Bros flicks so far

Recently, I had been ordering lot of Shaw Bros flicks in region 3 DVDs, which is even more sweet when you considered the print to be so pristine and the subtitles are very well done, and yes, no fucking stinking dubbing! I've been training for 2nd degree black belt test, which will test my physical and mental state. The test will required me to fight 10 people, 2 minutes each, up to an hour with 30 seconds break in between opponents with 5 minutes break between 5th and 6th opponents. The training is going well but the schedule is somewhat jarring so I do my best to training as much as I can. Last Friday, I lasted 10 opponents in 2 hours during sparring session so I'm happy about that. So the Shaw Bros flicks are meant to inspire and entertaining me and they're well made films with really cool action sequences. It's cool stuff. My personal favorites are The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Intimate Confessions of a Chinese Courtesan, Avenging Eagle, and The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter. Great stuff that hype me up for the test. Shaw Bros flicks are just fun stuff and they haven't dated at all, which is just fantastic. They definitely pwned. It's shame that Shaw Bros had ceased to making kung fu flicks in '85 to focused on the television. But they made about 800 films so there's plenty of gems to be discovered, of course.
