San Diego Comic Book Convention 2009 Day 1

I expected Day 1 to be hectic, due to Twilight fangirls so I got up at 5 am then leave the house immediately. When I arrived at my regular parking building, the frakking Twilight fangirls took first 4 floors and this was before 6 am! I had to skip the dang breakfast because of Twilight fangirls.

Photobucket

Before 6 am and I can see the line is dang epic and long!

Photobucket

Barely awake at this time of the day. I'm late riser so I had to sleep on floor to ensure that I don't oversleep at all. If I sleep in my oh so comfortable bed, then I'm prone to oversleeping.

Photobucket

Oh no! Those Twilight fangirls!!!!!!!!

Photobucket

The line is clamoring to get inside the building.

Photobucket

Racing through exhibition hall to get free bag from Warner Bros booth.

Photobucket

The line at Fox booth is very epic and my friend had special ordered the limited edition of Dollhouse DVD so I'm picking it up for him. But the line was so disorganized that they had to call in bunch of security.

Photobucket

I nearly pooped myself when I saw this statue. I actually thought it was him then I realized he wasn't moving at all.

Time for Astro Boy panel!!! This would be #2 loudest panels ever, next to Ironman 2 panel, which I'll cover in later posts.

I heart Kristen Bell. She's voice for Cora in Astro Boy. The trailer looks to be very promising.

Photobucket

Astro Boy!!!!

Photobucket

Getting to the second floor isn't easy feat.

Photobucket

Battlestar Galactica panel!!!! Great fun and entertaining panel.

Photobucket

Waiting in line for crime and noir comic panel.

Photobucket

Awesome panel. It's like listening to old men trading war stories at the bar. Very delightful.

Photobucket

Deadpool!!!

Photobucket

Very difficult to leave the con during the day because you have to deal with stuff like this. That's why I opted to chill around after con closed so I can go home smoothly.

Photobucket

Very creative costume.

Photobucket

Panel for Best/Worst manga. They spent 45 minutes on best manga and rest on bad stuff. One of them even offer me cup of water, which I readily accept.

Photobucket

I'm with Jason Thompson, whose has read over thousand manga. Very knowledgable guy.

Photobucket

This panel is nothing but hour long of commerical for new stuff to arrive at later dates. However, this is very entertaining as hell.

Photobucket

Neliel from Bleach!!! So hottie.

Photobucket

The panel before the screening for Dr. Horrible starts. We watch it twice, one normal and one with musical commentary. Very entertaining. There were few times where I nearly choke on my food because this experience results in funny moments, i.e. dancing along with 3 cowboys.

Photobucket

Me with Dr. Horrible fangirl. Funny thing is that she live right here in this area where I live, yet our paths never crossed. Strange. I should ask her to hang out at Grossmont center or something like that.

Photobucket

Fans cosplaying as their favorite characters.

Photobucket

Vampire Knights! I hope I got this right. I shoulda have read more manga, dammit.

Photobucket

Heading home to rest up.

Damn MG I would've been fooled too with that statue of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). So life like, I wonder if it was up for sale?
