Anime Conji '11 Day Dos (Or how it was uber epic of the epics ever)

This day ended up being very incredible and memorable day for me. Soooooo memorable for me that Yuffie and I didn't even go home until 6 am, lol. I wore Denmark cosplay and it was less well received than my Komui Lee cosplay, yet I can find more pics of me being Denmark, which is funny. Also, I made an appearance in someone's vlog for Conji in Denmark cosplay.

It will be very hard to top this day because I got to experience so many awesome stuff.



Yuffie is poring over the reference pictures for her Rogue cosplay. She find it very weird to use the trackball mouse because she actually push the ball down, lol.

This was around 11 am or so. I casually mentioned that Hetalia gathering start at 10:30 am and Denmark is part of that. Yuffie start to apologizing profusely but I stopped her and told her that gatherings at cons isn't really my thing since I like to stay flexible whole time. I told her that she can focus on making her cosplay.

I. Am. Denmark!!!!!!!!

I was tempting to yell that out at Conji but I opted not to because it would deemed very rude plus there's no right moment to pull it off so I just let it go.

Walking to the main hall of con now. We soon go our separate ways.



I first enter the dealers room and saw Marly cosplay as Ash from Evil Dead series.



Me with really cool dude cosplayer. He has truly inspired me because he's older man and still enjoying the cosplay so it give me hope that I can continue this hobby for good while.



Around this time, I start to panicking because I lost the button on my Denmark coat and I was on verge to lose another one so I hit up the cosplay repair room for help.



Much thank to that lady for helping me out! I asked her to tighten up the loose button and remove the top button so my coat would look proportional, which works for me.



Easily the most most most awkward moment I've been in during Conji. Imagine 3 separate friends of mine but they really don't know each other at all but they approached me at the same time. Yeah, talk about major awkward moment. But it was very interesting experience for me.



Back to the pool again for chilling session.

Meeting up with Lia. When I saw her, she was so drop dead gorgeous that my jaw literally dropped. We had a good short chat before we went our separate ways.



Leo as male version of Stocking, I think? I'm not familiar with that anime at all but he was so well received.

I didn't recognized him at first but he cosplay that character rather well, from what I can see.



Hang out with reporter kid. Was showing him around the area and I made an appearance in his vlog.

A pair of D.Gray-Man cosplayers. I think they would have received me better, had I brought my Komui cosplay. But I disliked the idea of wearing the same cosplay throughout the con.

Went to see my favorite artist but realized that I had appointment at maid cafe at 4 so I run back to the top floor.

Due to their policy, I was not allowed to take the pictures, much to my dismay but I can respect that so I didn't snap the pictures at all. So I'll try my best to explain my experience in words.

I entered the room after head guy confirmed that I had 4 pm reserved so this girl led me to the table full of customers. I was very nervous and jittery so I started to talk to this guy sitting next to me just to calm myself down.

The head of maid cafe, whom I'm very familiar with, confirmed to me that I'm all right so I'm like okay. But one thing that bit disappointed me is that I didn't get my maid of choice but I opted not to fuss over small things like that because I want the experience of maid cafe.

The maid listed the drink options for me and I actually request green tea, which I had never drink before but heard a lot about its health benefits plus it's very hot drink. I usually drink really fast when I'm nervous so I decide to go with green tea to prevent that.

It really works because I can only sip a little and green tea was very good, despite that it's so damn hot. I still talk to the guy next to me about various things like cons and anime.

I requested for the curry chicken rice and we were watching really cool various performances from the maids, which I watch sometimes. Also, maids can play the games with customers, which is very neat experience. I was counting on playing the game with my maid of choice but it didn't happen.

The head of maid cafe later confirmed to me that someone made an error about my reservation and actually placed me at wrong table, where I should have gotten my maid of choice.

The curry chicken rice was very tasty and I'm glad that it wasn't too spicy at all. We soon play the game with toy plastic alligator with jaw open where we have to push down each tooth before the jaw clamped down and that person is out.

Guess who won? Me! :D I managed to outlast everyone at the table, which is insane feat for me. So it was truly fun experience and I will always cherish that forever.

I was very fortunate that my maid of choice later served me a dessert, which lessened my disappointment a little bit. She seems really happy about seeing me. I was very aware that she was going through rough patch at that time so I chose not to aggro her and focus on my experience at maid cafe.

I spotted her best friend at merch table and began to texting her but I chose not to dive in that depth that my maid of choice may be in.

I soon left the maid cafe with huge smile on my face. It was really special experience and it has truly enrich my experience at Conji big time.

Only if they would permitted us to take the pictures, that would be icing on the cake for sure.

Fem America cosplayer with my axe prop. I spoke to this cosplayer a lot on FB and other website so I'm very familiar with her. In fact, when she saw my Denmark cosplay, she couldn't help but squealing and gave me hug. She's truly awesome chick.



Setting up military operation in hotel. This alone is another highlight for me at Conji.



Imagine Denmark, ODST, Vegeta, and Vash are working together on military operation and is running around in hotel for lulz with us using the hand signals to communicate with each other.

The fun military op actually last until we hit up the pirate rum party room on the top of floor. Lot of people were going WTF at us when we were hiding and trying to cloak ourselves, lol.

I soon hit up the elevator to go first floor. But as soon I step off, I saw Missa (whose happen to be my maid of choice) and her bff Karen. One thing that struck me the most about them is that they're hiding by wearing dark sunglasses and pull over hoods over their heads to prevent anyone from recognizing them.

Of course, that didn't fool me because I can feel their aura very well. So I enter the elevator with them and I had brief chat with Karen before they reach their floor to go to their room. I opted not to follow them because they didn't invited me so I let elevator to determine my fate. So the next floor the elevator hit, the door open and I saw Yuffie standing there.



She asked me where I was going and I just shrug to signal that nowhere. So she invited me to follow her to staff lounge for drinking party, which I accepted.

At this party, I actually almost got kicked out twice by the director of Anime Conji. At first, he asked me to see my badge, which I complied and he was like, you're not staff, this is staff lounge. I told him that Yuffie invited me and he was like all okay.

Later on, he asked me to see my ID, which I also complied and he seems to be surprised because I look very younger with wig on my head, lol. But he was really cool to me and I don't hold anything against him. He was just taking precaution, that's all.

Had he asked me to leave, I would have complied and made my own fun because that's how I roll.

Also at one point, Yuffie actually left her bartending station to checking on me to make sure that I'm okay. She seems to be very concerned because I was staying in the corner most of the times while drinking the brandy.

That action by Yuffie really change my perspective of her big time and I really appreciated her coming over to me to check up on me when she didn't have to. I'm truly blessed to consider her as my dear close friend.

I told her that I will be okay and cited that being wiped out from con + having few shots of brandy = very very very tired MG. XD She was like okay, no problem and told me that I know where to find her if I need anything.

Actually, no. When I left the staff lounge later on, she was nowhere to be found so I just stumbled around the Conji, producing my own fun.

Yep, I went out of staff lounge and chilling at the pool for a little bit before hitting up Leo's room.

Not going to post the drunk pictures of myself at all, despite that it actually fit with my character whose love to get drunk. For one, I disliked to see myself in less than normal state and I don't think it's proper for me to put those pics up.

I went to Leo's room and knocking on the door. He opened the door and start to help me out, which I really appreciated it a lot.



Very spicy thai food. I didn't know what this is but all I know that it has really help me a lot. Also, Leo and Tawny provided me with couple of water bottles to strive off the hangover.

They soon left me alone because I think they have to be with Danielle somewhere so I just eat that thai food and emptied the water bottles.



So I was feeling okay at this point and I enter to dance room, which was very dark as hell so I went out.



Drank a lot and lot of water from this particular water station, which really help me a lot.



The moment before I hit up staff lounge again.

I did not document the rest of the night with my camera. For one, I spent the majority of my time with Yuffie, whose seems to be prefer to stay out in the balcony whole time. I was very fortunate that I wore my Denmark cosplay to keep me warm. Also, there was lot of stuff going on so I didn't think that it was appropriate to take the pictures.

It feels very odd to see Yuffie ended up in some guy's arms whole time but I opted not to bother her about that. It wasn't really until later when I ask her about the context of relationship that she has with that guy, which is very clear to me. I'm very happy that me and her can establish the dialogue so I don't have any wild notions about her. For that, I'm truly grateful for it.

Also, I was bit uneasy in that balcony because 2 people were doing............ do you remember 'the birds and the bees' talk? Yeah, that. It was so culture shock for me because I have never seen that before. In front of everyone in balcony so it's like wow, seriously?

One friendly gay guy points out that I looked like I was shock so they're LOLing at me. I was okay with that, I'm sure I would do the same if someone stand next to me was shocking about seeing that kind of...... public display.

They weren't being subtle about it at all and I can hear it, which is weird because I'm deaf, lol. This truly made Conji sooooooooo incredibly memorable for me, even if it does feel bit weird and uncomfortable. It's like, whoa!

The couple soon left the balcony so I start to talk to gay dude, whose is massive and friendly guy. He know little bit sign language so I teach him a little sign language, which was very fun part. We soon develop a good rapport and enjoying the each other's company while Yuffie is all snuggle up against the Vash cosplayer, whom I have seen before on few occasions but had no idea that he was very good friends of Yuffie's.

There was another guy whose was hang out with us in balcony. His name is Matt, whom I saw before at PMX '11 and he tends to tease gay guy (his name is Lythis) a lot, despite the fact that he is a straight. I find it so funny when Matt is doing little lap dance on Lythis while Yuffie is all snuggle up with tall man in red coat.

Sometimes Yuffie, Matt, and Vash would get all huggy with each other and I would poke fun of that situation by adding my own version of play by play to Lythis, whose find it so hilarious.

"Oh my God, so much affections here that cats are going to be choke out of nowhere!"

"Awwww, how hollywood ending."

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is why you guys should make war, not love."

"Tooooooo movieish, me thinks. Can you please it bit very movieish, puh-pwease?"

I didn't voiced it out because I didn't want to kill the moment so I'm fortunate that Lythis can understand me a little bit, although I had to sign slowly so he can understand.

It was so surreal because I was teaching Lythis a sign language at 5 am, which is odd hour to learn a new language, lol.

Soon, all of us enter the staff lounge once again and Yuffie sitting on Matt, whose gave her a massage while I was chatting with Vash and Lythis a little bit. Entire staff seems to be tired so they are all preparing to sleep so I gently nudge Matt that it's time for Yuffie to go home with me and he obligated.

We didn't hit up home until 6 am or so, which is the most latest I've ever experience, lol. We had a brief chat before we went sleeping.

None of this epic night would be possible without Yuffie, period. That's for sure. She has really contributed a lot to my experience at Conji and I hope that I did the same for her.

Easily the most memorable con day for me ever. :D :D :D
