SDCC '10 Day 0 (Or how I didn't hit up the preview night)

When I first hit up Comic Con back in 2005, I honestly had no idea what was in store for me because I decide to go there at last minute. I had a conversation with friend and I brought up Comic Con so we decide to go the next morning and we only went for 1 day but something inside me long for more so I've been attending Comic Con ever since, always with 4 days pass.

I'm truly blessing that I was able to hit up lot of panels than average con goer does so I'm able to experiencing the different things, even if it's mostly anime/manga and Whedon releated stuff. This year, I only spent about 41 dollars according to my calculation with 21 bucks on the merch and 20 bucks on trolley fee. I drove to Comic Con on first day and saw that parking lot required prepaid, which would have cost me too much money so I had to drive back home and take the trolley, which cost me 5 bucks per day. I wasn't really happy about it because I want to chilling in anime room until midnight and often had to take trolley around 9, 10 pm because the ride would last an hour.

However, I'm fortunate that I met and hung out with fellow Guild Chat regulars like Chrissy, Joshy, and Liz. It was truly a pleasure to hang out with them. Also, it was an honor to meet BTS Kenny, Edgar, and Brian K.

In my personal opinion, I believe that this year's Comic Con is the best one I've ever attending and I can back it up since this is my 9th convention overall with 6 Comic Cons (including this year) and 3 anime cons. The security was very friendly and helpful and less dick compared to previous Comic Cons. Only time when they were dicks when we were crowding in middle of hallway, which is understandable but I'll let it go. Also, I feel that this year was bit less crowded compared to previous Comic Cons, which is interesting.

So here it goes. Enjoy!

Since I didn't get the pass with preview night, I had to opted for vanilla 4 days pass. This mean that I have to pick my pass up at Town and Country, the hotel in Mission Valley. The area around Town and Country was insanely heavy with traffic that it took longer to find the parking than when I pick up the pass.

Entering the hotel to search for the line.

Yes, found the line! But I had no idea where the line ends and when I leave the hotel, I saw the even uber epic line outside the hotel. I realized that I had cut in line unintentionally but I never saw the sign that point to end of the line.

To SDCC, my apologies for cutting in line but you didn't post up the sign where the line would be ending, dammit! But your staff is the top notch. :D

Moment before I pick up the pass. They had me scanning my pre registration paper then check my ID to match the name on the paper.

Moment before I get free loots, like tote bag from Warner Bros.

Leaving the hotel to find my truck. This is when I had realized that I unintentionally cut in line.

Ugh, thick traffic.

After this, I hit up Mission Valley Center to hang out with friends, which was fun. It was great to seeing them and we had a good chat about our plans for Comic Con.

Pretty decent start to Comic Con.
