Seaport Village Cosplay Gathering (or how it ended up being epic of the epic to end all of the epics known to the mankind)

This day is truly amazing time for me because never had I experience such joy and happiness for such long period. I'm truly blessed that I can experience this day because it is very seldom for me to have that chance and I'm happy that I managed to seize it so I have the memories that I can always cherish for rest of my life.

I'm truly grateful that Mark is able to accompanied me on this journey so we can share memories together and help each other out when we need it. If it wasn't for him, the journey would have end abruptly and the day wouldn't be special. Because of him, he turn extraordinary day into something truly spectacular day, which is not easy feat but somehow he did it.

I truly relish every moment of this day because I never want it to end at all, period. This day is what I truly long for and I'm very very very happy that I got to experience it. I actually shed a tear when this day ended so it was very devastating for me.

Time to unleash uber awesome blog! XDDD

I got up bit late, which is around 8:30 am so I elected to pick up my friend an hour later so I text him to keep him update whole time. This enabled me to eat full stacked breakfast since I knew that I wouldn't be eat anything significant until much later today. So I put on my Komui Lee cosplay then drove to my buddy's house to retrieve him and hitting up the trolley on way to the convention cente.r

Photobucket

Mark hooked me up with huge water bottle, which is helpful since it kept me hydrating throughout the day.

Photobucket

That's Mark. He may be my favorite Tobi cosplayer ever. :D

So when the trolley stop at the convention center, we got off and we were an hour early for the cosplay gathering so we decide to hung around the convention center, which is the location of SDCC. This means prime spot for photo ops and less crowded. :D

Photobucket

Look at me, I'm inside SDCC! :D

Photobucket

Mark is terrorizing the SDCC!

It's surreal to see that they're holding a mini con on that day since it's not too crowded and it's very spacey so we can move around freely with ease.

Photobucket

Just outside the exhibition hall. :D

Photobucket

Wait to terrorizing someone.

Photobucket

Gotta stay hydrate, yo!

Photobucket

Chilling like a villain.

Photobucket

Being badass mofo.

Photobucket

Very empty behind me.

Photobucket

Mark may be behind this???

We just walk around on top floors of SDCC and theorizing on how SDCC may expand the space but mostly, we just walk around and impressed the people with our cosplays.

Photobucket

Oh yes.

Photobucket

You shall not pass!

Photobucket

Kicking it back in the back of SDCC.

Photobucket

Too cool for back of the SDCC.

Photobucket

Mark disagreed. :P

Photobucket

That's the area for the line for pre-reg for SDCC '12 during SDCC '11. Mark told me the length of the line and my jaw literally drop to the floor. It's just staggering!

Soon, we hit up the area next to Seaport Village and we saw the festival thingy going on so we just browsing around for fun.

Photobucket

Polly, do you want a cracker?

Photobucket

Polly no likey Tobi.

We search all over the place then we hit the jackpot when we saw colorful cosplayers right next to carousel.

Photobucket

Me with David. Always a pleasure to see him. He's big inspiration to me.

Photobucket

Aww, I got nice hug from adorable Lia.

Photobucket

"Yeah, man, it was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen."

Photobucket

Mark and Lia are talking to each other. I usually hang out with them for the duration of the gathering.

Photobucket

Bunch of pokemon girls cosplayers.

Photobucket

Lia is being Death the Kid from Soul Eater.

Photobucket

Have you?!?

Photobucket

Massage time!

Photobucket

Ocean time!

Photobucket

"I thought I saw the dolphins over there."

Photobucket

"Guys, let's go chill in the shades next to festival."

Photobucket

Lia with cool bird on her arm. XD

Photobucket

Chill time!

I used this time to chatting with Mark and Lia.

One thing about me is that I view gatherings to reinforce the friendships but to create the opening to form a new friendship, which is what I did with Kitsune. I may be bit wary of Kitsune in the past but I stay neutral until I get the opening to establish the dialogue with her, which turn out to be very positive. I'm very very very happy because she provide a lot of insight in someone else so that really help me a lot.

Photobucket

"We gotta get up?"

Photobucket

"To the candy store!"

When I was browsing around in that candy store, one thing that caught my attention the most is...... Coke in glass bottle! I have never had coke in glass bottle so I promptly scoop that one up. I also grab the rock candy, which is homage to urban legend that say if one drink coke and rock candy together, his stomach would explode.

Photobucket

Ohhhhh tasty! :DDD

Photobucket

Oh Leo, you're being silly. :P

Photobucket

Bunch of female Pikachu cosplayers are dancing around.

Photobucket

Chilling around in the back of SDCC and kicking it back.

Photobucket

Dancing off contest starts now!

Photobucket

"Dude, I totally pwned ya at Ninja game!"

There's one hilarious moment when we were all sitting on the ground and Tony was laying back on the ground so his stomach was sticking out. I tapped Lia on the shoulder and she saw me lightly poke Tony's stomach and it jiggles for good few seconds, which prompt very funny reaction from Lia. :DDD

Photobucket

Hybrid of Death the Kid/Tobi!

Photobucket

Oh Mark, you're being silly bastard.

Photobucket

"Yes, Death the Kid pwned very much, despite the fact that I only saw few episodes of Soul Eater."

Photobucket

Giving Lia a nice hug.

Photobucket

Lia is giving me a nice hug.

Photobucket

Leo is being silly asian stud muffin.

Photobucket

Leo is being pwned by Pikachu.

Photobucket

Heading back to Seaport Village.

Photobucket

Ice cream!

Photobucket

Huddling time!

Photobucket

Everyone want to hit up carousel so they went there. However, few elected to not to participated, including me.

Photobucket

Wheeee!

Photobucket

"Oh man, carousel is so much fun!"

Photobucket

"Well, this is farewell."

Photobucket

Everyone is leaving to go home so Mark and I hit up the trolley to go back home. :(

Photobucket

Mark is slightly emo.

Photobucket

*sighing* Why must this day ends?!? :(

Few minutes later, young lady got on the trolley on next stop and struck up a conversation with me and Mark because we were wearing the cosplays. She asked us about the gatherings and all that stuff. She seems to be genuinely interesting about stuff so we invited her to sit with us for duration of the ride.

Photobucket

Her name is Alexis and she's into anime/manga/cosplay, yes!

She just had came back from Santa Barbara and it's very surreal moment because she live awfully close to Mark. They literally live about few minutes driving from each other, which is just insane. I used this time to reinforce and solidified the rapport between us, which works out for us.

I offer her ride home, which she accepts. However, I told her since Mark and I hadn't eaten anything all day today so we would have to bring her to chinese buffet with us and she accept it. I'm glad that she didn't mind so it's more time for us to hang out together.

Photobucket

Mark at chinese buffet. He only had 2 plates. Wimp. :P

Photobucket

Only had couple of plates. Wimp. :P

Photobucket

4 plates. I'm the heroic cosplayer. :DDD

I keed, I keed but I think it's good for us to enjoy the good meal together. Alexis tried to pay her share of the bill but I immediately shot it down and proceed to paid for her share because she's truly cool girl and I really enjoy her company a lot.

We hit up Alexis' place and it was kinda awkward to meet her family since Mark and I didn't expect them to pop in. However, it was cool to see few pictures of Alexis and anime posters in her room. :D

Photobucket

Walking to Taco Bell. This was pretty long walk. However, I again view this time to reinforce the rapport between us and this little trip succeed, in my own opinion. I'm very fortunate that Mark is very good talker so he can enable the conversation.

We hit up Taco Bell then walk back to her place. It was this time when I found out that she had never attended gatherings and cons before so Mark and I are planning to change that since cons are just awesome experiences in their own rights. I even told Alexis that I would be buying her the badge for next year's Anime Conji since it's damn awesome con.

Photobucket

Tried to hook up system to the TV but it doesn't work.

Family suddenly pop in so we elected to go out.

We had time limit of couple of hours so we tried to decide on the activities. I suggest kids playground where Mark and I frequented with Tobi so it's the ideal for us since it doesn't cost anything and it's fun place.

I drove them to the kids playground near my house.

Photobucket

Whoooooooooo!

Photobucket

Me with Alexis. :DDD Btw, she's wearing my shirt. XDDD

Photobucket

Mark with Alexis.

Photobucket

Very cool chick, yo.

Photobucket

Climbing the monkey bars.

Photobucket

Chilling with Alexis on top of the monkey bars.

After half an hour, we decide to hit up my house for gaming session so I was cool with it.

Photobucket

Playing Resident Evil 4 on my PS2. :D

It was pretty fun session since we were just mellowing around and having a lulz time.

Photobucket

Playing Street Fighter game with each other. Mark is too overpowered for us but we had fun just the same so it's cool.

Then Alexis had to go home so I feel very sad to drop her off at her place. :( It just suck to know that all good times must come to end.

Photobucket

Thank you, Alexis, for hanging out with me and Mark. I truly appreciated it a lot and you're stunning! I'm sooooo happy that you enter the same Trolley car with us so we can meet each other and having a fun time together. I will always cherish the memories forever.

Photobucket

Aww Mark, aren't you just adorable?

Photobucket

Nerd herd C unite! :DDD

Then I drop off Mark at his home afterwards. :(

I actually shed a tear when I was driving home because I truly had magnificent and incredibly memorable day. For long time, I was hoping that this type of day would arrive and it did so I'm very very very happy that it did came. I will always relish every moment and replay certain scenarios in my head over and over because they're just amazing.

Couldn't have done it without you, Mark. I'm truly happy that I met ya, dude. Without you, this day wouldn't be soooo incredible, especially the times with Alexis.

It's damn shame that it has to end.

However, I hope that I will continue to produce good memories on this scale so I'll be very happy guy.

Very spectacular day, that's for sure. :DDDDD

Good times, great memories!
