How I rock the PMX '11 (or Third Time is the Charm)
Honestly, I was not looking forward to PMX '11 since I did not enjoy my previous experience at past PMX. However, the few factors cause me to go to PMX so I elected to go there with less expectations and has goals about what to do at PMX. I'm fortunate that this year's PMX turn out to be solid one so it's all good.
But when I was reluctant to go to PMX, my friend Mark really want to go plus Laura really really really want me to go to PMX so that is sufficient for me because it means that they want my company. So I accept it and hit up the con for 2nd straight weekend, which is no easy feat for me and my wallet.
PMX turn out to be one of the better cons for me this year so I'm happy about it.

Brushing my teeth at 5 am. Mark woke me up few mins before, lol.

Mark in his Xemnas cosplay. This was taken the moment before we hit the road to pick up Cristian.
I feel bad for Cristian because he has to sit between us in my pick up truck for 2 hours on the way to PMX. So his knee would be touching my steering wheel whole time, make it hard for me to driving but I tried to stay calm and reflect on my old driving training from youth.
When I was about 10 in electronic store and I was playing racing game on computer but old man say that I should not wildy controlling the steering wheel. Instead, I should be moving the wheel with very minimal action to save the energy. So that's what I did in this situation. Thank you, old man, for teaching me this.

The parking at PMX was full so I elected to park at airport parking lot. Here, we are about to enter the PMX.

The stairs of LAX Hilton. Cristian went off to see his friends so Mark and I are just wandering around at this point.

Taken in bathroom, hahahahaha. They have cleanest bathrooms ever. :D

The line for registration to get the badge. I opted not to get the badge at this moment and let Mark get it.

Then we return to the main lobby and run into beautiful girl named Lia. :)

Mark with Lia.

Wandering around like vagabonds.

Mark enter into dealers hall and I wait outside since I didn't have the badge. But I saw this co-worker of mine and I was happy to see him again.

Xemnas vs Xemnas!

Mark and I were chilling in main lobby for a bit then Laura texted me that she can see me. I was having 'Phone Booth' moment before realizing that she was in cafe, having a breakfast.
We were having 'Dinner with Andre' moment with each other.

Mark being mellow dude.

Both of them poke fun at me for taking this picture since it's very MySpace style.

Laura being all tired from last night. We caught up a lot about the stuff in our lives, which was cool. I'm glad that she made the time for me to chill with us, which I greatly appreciated.

Laura's breakfast. Honestly, that would not be very filling for me, lol.

Before we enter Laura's room, Mark and I had serious discussion about the matters regarding the certain friendships and future plans. Then Laura let us enter the room so she can do Joker make up on me.

"Xemnas in the house!"

Having a conversation.

The view from Laura's room, which is quite expansive.

Sweet, Laura is applying the Joker make up on me. :DDD

Laura's roommates, Melissa and Kyler. They're cool folks.

Putting on final touch.

Yeah, I'm the Joker again. Seems to me that PMX want me to be Joker, lol.

Putting make up on Kyler.

Returning back to 2nd floor.

Ino! So nice to see her there since I didn't expect her to be there.

Doing a sketch of Toshiro Hijikata from Gintama for me! This is my highlight of PMX.

The Companion Cube!

Run into Halloween Sora outside the Dealers Hall. I hope that I don't annoy her, despite that I didn't see her that much. I would hate it if she think I'm a pest. :(

The view of the main lobby from 2nd floor.

Chilling like a villains with Mark.

The view of 2nd floor.

Very strange cosplay.

Me with Marly!

Xemnas with Halloween Sora's keyblade. :D

Pair of Visual Kei cosplayers. They were huge hit with the crowd.
Around this time, Laura seems to be insistent on getting me the badge so we hit up the reg room to get the badge. Mark and I split the badge for me. However, I think it's silly since I only used that badge once but it's a good souvenir for me.

A pair of Alice in Wonderland cosplayers. I'm sooooooo convinced that the one on left was inspiring by the Russian cosplayer whose did version of that cosplay last year.

Hurray for the badges!

Yuffie! I finally found her so I can give her rapier back.

Turkey! He's awesome photographer and nicest guy with hilarious one liners.

Mark and I went to 2nd floor balcony and found bunch of Homestuck cosplayers doing their own stuff for photo shoot so we run into Lia. :)
I tried to give Lia my jacket to keep her warm but she declined because of gray paint on her skin. I rejected and told her that my jacket was cheapie one from thrift store. She vetoed it. :(

Mark with Lia.

Homestuck cosplayers doing their own stuff. I think Homestuck is pretty cool but nowhere near great as the fans made it out to be. I think Homestuck lacks direction and goes on too long instead of tightening the story up.

Mark with pair of Final Fantasy cosplayers.

Then we hit up console gaming room. Here, I'm watching Halloween Sora pwn the noobs.

Watching Mark pwn the noob.

Watching myself getting pwned. :(

Me with the main character from Gintama. :D

Me with Sougo from Gintama. XDDD

Chilling with Marly for while in main lobby.

Yuffie is chilling like a villain.

Watching cosplayers have fun.

Oh noe, the latex fell off my cheek.

Hiya Laura!

Self portrait with me and Laura. But the Turkey cosplayer was kind enough to offer to take the pictures of us together. :)

I'm going to cherish this picture. :DDD

My vision of when I choke on the water, which wasn't fun. :(

Kefka! She was huge hit among with cosplayers. :)

Returning back from smoking the cigarette and is chilling like a villain again. Typical Yuffie. :D

The last picture of me with Yuffie.
I told her that we have to leave now and she just jump out of the chair to give me the hug, which I'll always remember. I'm glad that we are cool with each other. :)
All I have to say is that driving home is very very very pain since it was raining and the highway was thick. :(
We didn't have much cash on us because I used mine up for gas and parking fee while Mark used his to buy stuff for his girlfriend. Fortunately, his mother was willing to drop cash for our dinner, which we greatly appreciated.

Ordering the food.

Food!

Mark with his yummy food.

Me with very tasty food!
I can honestly say that I had a great time at PMX because of goals that we set at PMX. For one, I told Mark to treat PMX as gathering, not convention, which helps him a lot. Last year's PMX just suck because of inconvenient location with no nearby restaurants and zero contents. Fortunately, PMX fix that issues and beef up the contents, which enrich the experience for Mark.
It's unfortunate that Sora is not able to go to this year's PMX because I'd love to show her where I first saw her and what I did at PMX '09. But I'm glad that Marly and Yuffie were there so it was really cool to chill with them for a bit. I thanked Marly for helping me with cosplay stuff and theories, which I greatly appreciated.
I had a great time at PMX because I kept my expectations very low and tight goals, which is to hang out with Laura for a bit, which was neat experience. I'm glad that I was able to make PMX an epic for her. It feels nice when someone truly want me to be there and make an effort to spend the time with me.
Good times, great memories!
